
Women's Basketball Looks for 3rd Straight Road Win Tuesday

NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (2-1) plays its third consecutive road game on Tuesday, heading out to Long Island for an in-state clash with Stony Brook (0-3). Tip is set for 7 p.m. from Island Federal Credit Union Arena in Stony Brook.

ZIMMERMAN DOUBLES UP AS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Junior Camille Zimmerman has been named Ivy League Player of the Week each of the first two weeks ... Zimmerman heads into Tuesday averaging 20.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks ... The returning Second Team All-Ivy League selection went for 20 points and a season-high 17 rebounds in Saturday's victory at Saint Francis (Nov. 19) ... She led the Lions to their first victory of the season with a team-high 18 points, game-high 15 rebounds and game-high three blocks in a 65-58 road win over Richmond (Nov. 13) ... Zimmerman also recorded team-highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds in the opener against UMBC ... Through the early part of the season, Zimmerman ranks atop the Ivy League in scoring, rebounding, offensive rebounding, double-doubles, field goals made and field goals attempted ... Zimmerman ranks No. 2 nationally in double-doubles (3), No. 2 in offensive rebounds (6.7) and No. 3 in rebounds (14.0).
SECOND-HALF COMEBACK
• Columbia came back from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Saint Francis (PA) on Saturday, marking the team's first victory when trailing by 10 or more at halftime since Feb. 2, 2008 against Brown ... The Lions trailed SFU 46-36 at the half and went down by as many as 12 in the third quarter ... Back in '08 against Brown, the Lions trailed 28-18 at the half and came back to win in overtime, 56-52 ... In that game, Brown led by as many as 12 with 9:37 remaining in the second half.
AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
• Columbia ranks among the top 30 nationally in five statistical categories, which includes free throw percentage (83.1 pct.), rebounding margin (+14.7), 3-point field goal defense (20.6 pct.), defensive rebounds per game (33) and rebounds per game (48) ... Four of those five marks lead the Ivy League, with the exception of 3-point defense, which ranks second ... Columbia's best mark is No. 5 in free throw percentage, followed by No. 18 in rebounding margin, No. 22 in 3-point defense, No. 26 in defensive rebounds and No. 29 in rebounds ... Last season, the Lions finished the season No. 2 in free throw percentage (79.7 pct.), which was second to UConn.
ROAD WARRIORS
• Columbia has won its first two road games of the season and has won four straight non-conference road games dating back to last season ... The streak started Dec. 14, 2015 with an 84-74 victory at LIU Brooklyn, and also includes an 87-83 overtime victory from Jan. 3 at Fairleigh Dickinson ... The last time Columbia won four straight non-conference road games was Jan. 7, 2009 - Dec. 30, 2009, defeating Longwood in their last non-conference road game of the 2008-09 season, followed by LIU Brooklyn, Wagner and Robert Morris in the 2009-10 season.
OLIVER BREAKS INTO TOP 5 SCORERS
• Tori Oliver enters Tuesday's game fifth in program history with 1,094 career points ... Oliver moved into the top 5 with a 15-point performance at Richmond (Nov. 13), passing current head coach Megan Griffith (2003-07) and Ellen Bossert (1984-86) in the process ... Oliver is 86 points from fourth place on the list, which belongs to Shawnee Pickney, who scored 1,180 points from 1997-2001.
LAST TIME OUT: Columbia 84 – Saint Francis 77
• An 18-0 third-quarter run lifted the Columbia women's basketball team to an 84-77 victory over Saint Francis University Saturday afternoon at DeGol Arena … Senior Tori Oliver and junior Camille Zimmerman each scored 20 points for the Lions … Oliver netted a season-high 23 on 7-of-11 shooting and was a perfect 9-for-9 at the foul line … Zimmerman scored 20 on 8-of-18 shooting and brought in a season-high 17 rebounds, helping Columbia (2-1) outrebound Saint Francis (1-2), 51-32 … Columbia scored 22 of the game's 24 points over a span of 7:49 in the third quarter, including 18 unanswered over a six-minute stretch … Roeper tied the game at 53 halfway through the quarter and finished the night with a season-high 13 points … The Lions scored eight more to cap the run ahead 61-53 … Columbia maintained the lead through the fourth with the help of two big 3-pointers from junior Alexa Giuliano.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT – STONY BROOK
• Stony Brook heads into Tuesday still in search of its first victory, falling in its first three games of the season to Iona (57-46), Hofstra (67-64) and 14th-ranked Syracuse (78-60) ... Columbia will make four straight in-state games to begin the season for Stony Brook ... The Seawolves have advanced to the postseason each of the last two seasons, earning invitations to the WBI.
• Kori Bayne-Walker is the team's leading scorer, averaging 14.3 points on 60-percent shooting ... The senior guard also owns the team's most 3-point makes, hitting 5-of-8, and the most assists (12) ... Senior Elizabeth Manner also averages double figures in the scoring column with 11.0 per game ... Manner and Bayne-Walker have each made a team-best 14 field goals ... Christa Scognamiglio is the team's leading rebounder at 6.3 per contest, just ahead of Aaliyah Worley's 5.7.
• Caroline McCombs is in her third season as head coach of the Seawolves with a career record of 34-32 (.515) and an 18-14 (.563) mark in conference games ... McCombs, a 1998 graduate of Youngstown State, was an assistant at Auburn, Northwestern, Pittsburgh and Valparaiso before earning her first head coaching job at Stony Brook ... McCombs has led Stony Brook to 17 wins in each of her first two seasons, which includes back-to-back invitations to the WBI.
