WORCESTER, Mass. – With a 9-1 record in the varsity eight, the No. 2 Columbia lightweight rowing team sets its sights on the EARC Sprints this Sunday, May 15 on Lake Quinsigamond.
Columbia has had a week off after multiple races over the previous two weekends. The Lions took down Delaware and heavyweight crew Drexel on April 30, followed by a pair of wins over Harvard on May 1.
The Lions' only defeat in the varsity eight came to No. 1 Yale on April 16.
The Lions varsity eight battled with No. 1 Cornell and fell by just one second in the varsity eight grand final to claim a silver medal. The second varsity eight just missed out on the podium, claiming fourth place in the grand final.
