Football Sets Preseason Practice Schedule

NEW YORK—Head coach Al Bagnoli and Columbia Football announced its 2016 preseason camp practice schedule on Friday. Columbia will practice in preparation for its season opener on Saturday, Sept. 17 against St. Francis, Pa. at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium (Broadway and 218th Street).
Columbia opens practice on Monday, August 22. It will practice in pads for the first time on Friday, August. 26. The Lions will travel to Schenectady, N.Y. and Union College to play Ivy League rival Cornell in a scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 3 (4 p.m. kickoff). All practices are open to the public.
Columbia returns 12 starters, including eight on offense and four on defense. Seventy-five letterwinners return to the roster.

Columbia's season opener against St. Francis, Pa. has been designated Northern Manhattan Neighbors Appreciation Day. As part of the promotion, all fans will receive free hot dogs and beverages in the pre-game picnic area at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium (Broadway and 218th Street in New York City). In addition, community residents of Inwood and Washington Heights are invited to attend this game as special guests and may pickup complimentary tickets by presenting proof of residence on game day.
