ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Columbia men's squash will hit the road this weekend to face a pair of non-league squads in No. 6 Rochester and No. 3 St. Lawrence in upstate New York this weekend.
ABOUT LAST WEEKEND
Columbia is coming off a thrilling 5-4 win over No. 2 Harvard, the first Lion win over the Crimson in program history. With the Lions leading the match 4-2, Osama Khalifa took Harvard's Saadeldin Abouaish down to the wire in a five set thriller. Khalifa was able to come out on top, 11-9 in the fifth, to secure Columbia's victory. Adham Madi, Velavan Senthilkumar, Robin Mann, Krish Kapur represented the other four Lion victories on the day. The Lions are now 3-0 in Ivy League play.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Last season, the Lions, ranked No. 5 at the time, upset the third ranked Yellow Jackets on January 12 at SL Green StreetSquash. Columbia now leads the all-time series, 2-1.
The last time Columbia saw St. Lawrence was at the 3/4 match at the CSA team championships, in which the Lions fell 6-3. St. Lawrence leads the all-time series 3-0.
UP NEXT
The Lions will remain on the road to take on George Washington in New Haven next weekend.
