PRINCETON, N.J. – For the fourth consecutive season, the Columbia men's tennis team is hoisting a doubles trophy at the ITA Northeast Regional tournament.
 
Jack Lin and William Matheson came through in the championship match today at Princeton against Daniel Soyfer and David Volfson, topping the Cornell pair 6-0, 6-2. This was the fifth victory in the tournament for the Columbia pair who ended the spring of 2018 in the NCAA Doubles Tournament after a 21-7 record where they were ranked as high as No. 21.
 
After the five victories during the ITA Regional, Lin and Matheson improve to 9-0 this season, which includes a trio of victories during the Ivy Plus Tournament.
 
The singles side also came to a close for Lin, after he advanced all the way to the semifinal round. The Columbia sophomore defeated his teammate Matheson to advance to the semis, but was upended by No. 75 Charlie Broom from Dartmouth today, 6-4, 6-3.
 
With the tournament victory today, Lin and Matheson have advanced to the ITA Fall National Championships, which take place in Surprise, Arizona, beginning on Nov. 7.
