NEW YORK- Five members of Columbia's women's cross country team were named to the USTFCCCA All-Region team on Monday. The All-Region roster was released following the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championships that wrapped up last Saturday.
The list is selected from the top-25 finishers in each of the regional competitions. Columbia is the only school in the Northeast region to have five members earn honors. The Lions took home first place at the regional championships this season and the five honorees are
Erin Gregoire,
Libby Kokes,
Katie Wasserman,
Maria Kogan and Alexandra Hays.
Kokes finished the regional competition with a time of 21:43.6 over the 6K course, claiming the fourth place finish. Gregoire crossed the line in seventh place and a time of 22:00.4.
Wasserman and
Kogan followed closely behind finishing eighth and ninth place, respectively. Alexandra Hays was the fifth finisher for Columbia, finishing 13th with a time of 22:14.1.
The Lions head off to Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday for the NCAA Championships.
