NEW YORK—Junior captain Amy Ding was named the 2017-18 Columbia Women's Golf William Terminello Award winner, Head Coach Amy Weeks announced on Sunday. The William Terminello Award honors the team's Most Valuable Player.
A native of Lexington, Mass., Ding served as the team's captain in 2017-18. She concluded the entire year with a 77.78 stroke average (1,711 strokes in 22 rounds), which ranked second on the squad. placed among an event's top-25 scorers three times, which led the Lions. Her highest finish of the year was a fifth place finish at the Piciotto Memorial Intercollegiate, April 8-9. She shot a season-low round of 73 at the 3M Augusta Invitational. A three-year letterwinner with the Columbia women's golf program, Ding is enrolled at Columbia College as a Political Science major.
Columbia concluded its 2017-18 season at the Ivy League Championships, April 20-22 at Metedeconk National Golf Course. The Lions finished fourth, while Ding placed 15th individually.
