Won the More Than Golf Invitational (March 1-3)
NEW YORK — Columbia first year Emily Zeng has been named Ivy League Women's Golfer of the Month for March, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. This is the first such honor for both Zeng and the Columbia women's golf program since the inception of the award in the fall of 2024.
A rookie from Beijing, Zeng earned her first collegiate victory in her second collegiate tournament, winning the 63-player More Than Golf Invitational (March 1-3) at 1-under-par 218. She carded a 71, a 78 and a final-round 4-under-par 69 to hold off teammate Kristina Xu for the title. Zeng was the only competitor in the field to finish under par.
In winning the individual medalist, Zeng also led Columbia to its first team victory since 2016. The Lions entered the final round one shot back of both Tulsa and Denver, but carded their best team round of 3-under-par 289 to beat second-place Tulsa by 10 strokes and take home the title.
For the month, Zeng posted a stroke average of 74.17. Entering the ECU Ironwood Invitational (Apr. 5-7), she holds a 73.56 stroke average for the spring season.
The Lions complete the ECU Ironwood Invitational today. They then prepare for the 2026 Ivy League Championship, April 24-26. This year's championship will be held at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.
