
Lions Release Complete 2018 Schedule

Columbia opens up a 17-game slate at home on August 31 against Quinnipiac.
NEW YORK – Columbia field hockey head coach Caroline Nelson-Nichols has announced the 17-game fall schedule for the upcoming season. The Lions will begin 2018 at home against Quinnipiac on Friday, August 31 at 6 p.m. at the Baker Athletics Complex. In total, nine of Columbia's 17 games will be played at home.
The Lions will remain at the friendly confines of the Columbia Field Hockey Venue for a Labor Day (Sep. 3) matchup against Monmouth under the lights at 6:30 p.m. before hitting the road for a pair of games in Massachusetts against UMass-Lowell (Sep. 7) and Holy Cross (Sep. 9) the following weekend.
Ivy League play commences on Saturday, Sep. 22 at Brown for a 12 p.m. tilt before a neutral non-conference game at Bryant on the Bears' campus Sep. 23. Columbia will host Cornell the following weekend (Sep. 30) for its Ancient Eight home debut.
The Lions will also welcome defending conference champs Princeton (Oct. 5) and Dartmouth (Oct. 19), both tabbed for Friday evening start times. On the road, Columbia travels to Penn (Oct. 12), Yale (Oct. 27) and Harvard (Nov. 3) to round out the Ivy League portion of the fixture.
Non-conference matchups at home feature Hofstra (Sep. 15), Northeastern (Sep. 16), Fairfield (Oct. 14) – fresh off its MAAC title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017, Villanova (Oct. 21) and Sacred Heart (Oct. 28), which will mark Senior Day.
