NEW YORK — The Columbia women's swimming and diving team continues its home-stretch this Friday, facing off against the Harvard Crimson at noon ET inside Percy Uris Natatorium.
As with all home meets, admission is free to all fans. Live results will be available via Meet Mobile.
The Lions are 1-1 on the season entering Friday's matchup, with both previous outings coming against Ivy League foes. Columbia opened the 2019-20 campaign with a 195-105 victory over Penn before falling to Yale, 172-127, last Friday.
In last weekend's contest against the Bulldogs, senior Helen Wojdylo swept the breaststroke events for the second-straight meet, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.44 and the 200 breast, going 2:13.49. On the diving side, first-year Livy Poulin posted silver-worthy finished on both the 1-meter (271.05) and 3-meter (267.53) boards, leading the Lions in a 2-3-4 finish in both events.
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson are 2-1 coming into the meet, having dropped their season opener to Duke (209-91), before defeating both Dartmouth and Cornell in a tri-meet last weekend. Harvard is coming off its second-straight Ivy League Championship in 2018-19, and the program returns five NCAA qualifiers.
Harvard has won the last five meetings between the programs, with Columbia's last win in the series coming in the 2013-14 season. The Lions earned a 163.5-136.5 victory in the home and season opener that year.
ON DECK
Columbia will break from dual meets to compete at the Rutgers Invitational, Dec. 4-8, in Piscataway, New Jersey. The meet will be the Lions' final outing of the 2019 calendar year, resuming action on Jan. 12 when they host Cornell.
