Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes Seventh at Ivy League Championships

Ashley Hong podiums twice as multiple Lions set new personal bests
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Columbia women's swimming and diving team finished in seventh place with 550.5 points at the 2026 Ivy League Championships being held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center on the campus of Brown University.
Princeton emerged victorious in the competition with a score of 1432. Penn took second place with 1204 points. Harvard placed third, scoring 1153.5 points.
DAY ONE
The Ivy League Championships began with the 200-medley and the 800-free relay.
Columbia's A relays both placed eighth, with the 200-medley squad of Shaelyn Shields, Ashley Hong, Ella Chan, and Sally Ma finishing a second away from seventh at 1:41.16.

DAY TWO
Ashley Hong had the Lions' top finish of the day, taking 11th in the 200 IM with a lifetime best time of 2:01.10.
Sally Ma touched the wall in 13th in the 50 free with a time of 22.84.
Lindsay Orringer finished 14th in the 500 free, clocking in at 4:52.34.

DAY THREE
Hong had another big day, once again providing Columbia's top finish. She took eighth in the 100 breast with a personal best time of 1:02.37. Natalia Diaz came in second in the B finals, 10th overall, with a time of 1:02.79. Audrey Wolk finished behind her in 12th at 1:03.12.
Shaelyn Shields took 14th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.95.
The Lions closed the day with a seventh place finish in the 400 medley relay, as the team of Jilly MacNamara, Hong, Chan and Ma finished at 3:42.47.

DAY FOUR
Hong continued to shine for the Lions, notching the teams best finish of the weekend in the 200-breast. She finished in sixth place, clocking a lifetime best of 2:14.19. Natalia Diaz won the B Finals with a personal record of 2:14.75.
Ma placed 11th in the 100 free with a time of 50.01. MacNamara finished 13th in the 200 back at 1:57.45.
Orringer took 13th in the 1650 free with a time of 16:44.53, with Avansino right behind in 14th with a lifetime best of 16:49.34.

DIVING
Chloe Leung led the way on the 3m boards, making the B finals and placing 14th with a score of 264.85.
"This was such a great weekend for Chloe," Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. "In her final Ivy League meet as a senior, she turns out one of the best performances of her career. I'm just beaming and I'm so happy for her."
"I'm really proud of how all three women represented Columbia Swimming and Diving. Their composure and grace under pressure were on full display."
ON DECK
All of the Lions' qualified divers will begin preparations for the NCAA Zone Diving competition on March 9.
