Lions Win Nine of 10 Matches Versus Brown

On weekend, Lions claim 17 out of 20 matches at Brown Classic against select Boston College and Brown players.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Columbia claimed nine out of 10 matches against Brown women's tennis players Sunday at the Brown Classic. Overall on the weekend, Columbia won 17 out of its 20 matches.
Columbia won all seven singles matches and two of three doubles matches Sunday against Brown. On Saturday, the Lions won three out of four doubles matches and five out of six singles matches. Most notably, Columbia's No. 116 ranked Jennifer Kerr defeated Boston College's No. 45 ranked Yufei Long 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday.
Columbia players who won both matches on the weekend include; sophomore Melissa Sakar, junior Jennifer Kerr, sophomore Caitie Sullivan, first-year Michelle Xu, first-year Julia Haynes, and the doubles team of Kerr and Sullivan.
