
Lions Host Williams on Friday, Play at Cornell on Sunday

The Lions face Williams at home on Friday at 7 p.m. and travel to Ithaca to take on Cornell Sunday.
NEW YORK – The Columbia squash teams return home to SL Green Streetsquash to compete against Williams Ephs Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m. Then on Sunday, the Lions face their first Ivy League opponent of the season as they compete against Cornell this Sunday December 8 at noon in Ithaca, New York, at the Belkin International Squash Courts.
Women's Preview
In dominating fashion, No. 6 Columbia (3-1) took down No. 15 George Washington without dropping a match going 9-0. Losing a very close fought battle 4-5 to No. 8 Drexel, the Lions had Nicole Kendall, Cindy Cao, Jane Pincus and Doria Chen go undefeated last weekend. The women have played Cornell the past three years in dominant fashion, coming out on top in the last three contests.
Men's Preview
Last weekend, the Lions team fought a close battle against George Washington, but ultimately fell to the Colonials. This week the team looks to claim success. The last four matchups between the Lions and the Ephs have resulted in a Columbia win dating back to the 2012-13 season. The men have consecutively defeated Cornell in their contests, dating back to the 2014-15 season.
Scouting Williams
The Williams women improved its win-streak to three after topping Hamilton and Connecticut College on November 24 and are currently 3-1 this season.
The men added another pair of 9-0 wins over Hamilton and Connecticut College following the 9-0 triumph over Dickinson to cap off a strong opening weekend for the Ephs.
Scouting Cornell
Cornell women's squash (2-0) opened its season with a pair of resounding 9-0 victories on Nov. 17, first against St. Lawrence and then against William Smith.
Cornell's men (2-2) will be playing its fifth consecutive match at home, coming off a narrow 5-4 loss to No.6 Rochester on Wednesday evening. The Big Red, which is now ranked No. 14 in the College Squash Association national rankings, saw both of its victories to date come on Nov. 17 over St. Lawrence and Hobart.
