PRINCETON, N.J. — Sophomore
Jonas Kistorp raced his way to victory in the 100-yard butterfly with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 46.79 to highlight day two of the 2019 Big Al Invitational for the Columbia men's swimming team on Saturday evening at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.

The Lions sit in fifth place in the team standings with 330.5 points.

Kistorp's win in the 100 fly marked his first individual triumph of the meet after a second-place finish in the 50 free and contributing to two relay victories on Friday. Also swimming in the championship final of the 100 fly, junior
Albert Gwo placed fourth overall with a time of 47.56 and senior
Zac Pear took sixth in 48.40.

The night opened with a bronze finish in the 200 medley relay, as senior
Cole Stevens, freshman
Michael Chang, Kistorp and Gwo put together a time of 1:28.16. Gwo anchored with a 19.40 split for the second-fastest freestyle split in the field.

In the 200 free, Pear added another top-eight finish placing eighth in the championship final after touching the wall in 1:39.74.

Two Lions earned top-five finishes in the 100 backstroke, once again led by Kistorp who placed fourth with a time of 48.00. Stevens was fifth, clocking in at 48.66.

The evening wrapped with Columbia posting a seventh-place showing in the 800 freestyle relay as Pear,
Shawn Lou,
Keegan Drew and
Kevin Dang combined for a time of 6:40.06.

The Big Al Invitational wraps up on Sunday, with events including the 1,650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay.
