No. 9 Columbia to Face SMU, Tulane This Weekend

Columbia will play a pair of home matches on back-to-back days this weekend at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center
NEW YORK — The No. 9 Columbia men's tennis team continues its three-match homestand this weekend, hosting contests on back-to-back days against SMU on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET and Tulane on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
All six courts will stream live on ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN app.
Columbia (6-1) is coming off an impressive 7-0 home victory over then-No. 43 Northwestern on Sunday. The victory marked the Lions' third straight after defeating then-No. 11 Notre Dame, 4-2, and then-No. 9 Baylor, 4-1, the previous weekend at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago.
After jumping up to No. 10 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings last week, the Lions moved to No. 9 this week for its highest ranking of the season.
SCOUTING SMU
Entering Saturday's contest, the Mustangs hold an 8-6 overall record. Most recently, SMU suffered a 4-3 loss to Abilene Christian on Feb. 22 in Dallas.
The Mustangs' roster features one ranked singles player in No. 50 Charles Sarrio Tamarit.
Columbia trails the overall series between the two programs, 7-14, but the Lions have won te last six consecutive meetings.
SCOUTING TULANE
The Green Wave visits New York with a 4-7 overall record, having faced a plethora of highly-ranked foes. Tulane opened the season at 4-0, advancing to National Indoors with wins over then-No. 18 Tennessee and then-No. 19 Florida State.
Two Tulane singles players are ranked among the top 100, including No. 70 Luis Erlenbusch and No. 88 Ewan Moore.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
ON DECK
The Lions will take a two-week break before heading down south to face a trio of teams in Texas: UT Arlington, TCU and the University of Texas.
