Columbia knew the Tigers would pose a lofty challenge after putting up a 21-10 statement win over No. 8 Penn State on Wednesday. Princeton came out aggressively, quickly establishing a 7-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of play. The Lions' scoring drought continued as Princeton took a 15-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Â
Senior midfielder
Lindsey Ewertsen put the Lions on the board with 17:59 remaining in the second half, converting off a free-position attempt. The goal marked her tenth of the season to lead all Columbia players on the 2019 campaign. Ewertsen also tallied a team-leading three caused turnovers and three draw controls. Through five games, Ewertsen has 18 caused turnovers, nearly halfway to her 2018 season total of 38.

Abby Roberts combined for 10 saves against the Tigers. Roberts had a .556 save percentage playing the entire second half with five saves and allowing only four second-half goals.
Â
Coming into the contest, the Lions ranked 14th in the nation in clearing percentage at 89.6 percent, but were limited to 68.7 percent with 11 successful clears on 16 attempts.
Â
Princeton limited the Lions to just 11 shots in the game and won 13 of 21 draw controls. Turnovers were also a difference-maker in the outing, as the Lions had 18 to Princeton's 12.
Â
The Lions will have a quick turnaround, returning to action on Tuesday, March 5, as they travel to face Lehigh. The contest is set to begin at 3 p.m. ET.
