Highlights provided by Allie Hays, who finishes third in women's 3,000-meter run, Columbia's takes fourth in men's 4x800-meter relay and Erin Gregoire takes fifth in women's 3,000-meter run.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Thirty-two Columbia men's and women's track and field athletes competed at the 125th annual Penn Relays Thursday through Saturday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
Providing highlights for the Lions included Allie Hays (9:25.63) and Erin Gregoire (9:30.04), who placed third and fifth respectively in the 3,000-meter run, Jack Pihlkar placed seventh in the hammer throw (60.16m/197-4) and Maryam Hassan placed seventh in the triple jump championship (11.93m/39-1 ¾),
In relays, Columbia's 4x800-meter relay team consisting of Solomon Rice, Jackson Storey, Alek Sauer and Josiah Langstaff placed fourth in 7:26.93, Columbia's men's DMR team consisting of Jake Caswell, Willie Hall, Ian Irish and Aaron Breene placed seventh in 10:01.04 and the Lions' women's DMR team of Katie Wasserman, Jackie Patterson, Bianca Alonzo and Annie Fanta took eighth in 11:13.70.
