
Strachan Earns Team Gold, Individual Silver in Shanghai World Cup Event

Junior Sophia Strachan appeared in her first World Cup stage medal match, claiming the silver medal
SHANGHAI — Columbia junior Sophia Strachan continued her world tour this week, earning a gold medal in stage two of the World Cup for Team USA in the team compound competition in Shanghai. Strachan also earned silver in her first world cup stage medal match.
Strachan helped Team USA to the gold medal in team compound, coming all the way down to the final arrow in a shoot off against Korea where the United States just earned the edge.
In her first gold-medal World Cup match, Strachan went up against Korea's So Chaewon, ultimately falling 140-148. The performance comes just two weeks after competing in the first stage in Medellin, Columbia.
Strachan will re-join her Columbia teammates this upcoming weekend, May 16-19, in Columbus, Ohio, for the National Outdoor Collegiate Championships.
