Football to Celebrate 2019 Season With Awards Banquet on Feb. 8

Saturday, Feb. 8 banquet at Low Library to begin with 6 p.m. reception, followed by 7 p.m. dinner; Former Columbia quarterback Sean Brackett ‘13CC will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
NEW YORK—Sponsored by the Columbia Football Players Club, the Columbia Football program will celebrate its 2019 football season with its annual awards banquet on the evening of Saturday, February 8 at Low Library. Former Columbia quarterback Sean Brackett '13CC will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The event begins with a welcome reception at 6 p.m. followed by the banquet program featuring highlight videos and dinner at 7 p.m. in Low Library Rotunda. Parents, guests and campus partners will be in attendance. Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football Al Bagnoli, along with all nine assistant coaches will present each of the 13 individual awards. Dress is business casual.
Brackett, who has played five years of professional football, is currently a quarterback for the National Arena League's Massachusetts Pirates. During the 2018 season Brackett won the NAL Most Valuable Player Award and was named 2nd-Team All-NAL, while passing for 3,170 yards with 74 touchdowns and only 18 interceptions. In 2019, he passed for 2,523 yards with 57 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, while being named 2nd-Team All-NAL. A Brooklyn, Conn. native, Brackett is one of Columbia's all-time top dual threat quarterbacks as both a passer and runner. A two-time All-Ivy League selection including a First Team honoree in 2010, Bracket ranks No. 2 in school history with 6,237 passing yards after completing 53.2 percent (531 of 999) of his passes with 46 touchdowns and only 32 interceptions. He also holds five Columbia school records for passing, rushing and total offense.
Columbia will honor its 28-member 2019 senior class which includes (by number): Hunter Lunsford, Lynnard Rose, Michael Murphy, Jalen Williams, Josh Wainwright, Christian Everett, Matt Dame, Oren Milstein, Carson Griffis, Benjamin McKeighan, Tanner Thomas, Ronald Smith, Jonathan Webster, Van Neils, Max Mullaney, Ben Hill, Daniel DeLorenzi, Taylor Weldon, John Fischer, Joseph Scowden, Arman Samouk, Parker Coogan, Lamine Nouck-A-Nwal, Drew Schoeberl, Rory Schlageter, Kyle Baskin, Christian Boujaoude, and Alex Robin. Murphy and Wainwright served as 2019 team captains. Depending on individual circumstances, a few of these players could return for the 2020 season.
With its 20 overall wins, Columbia's Class of 2020 won more games than any other senior class since the school joined the Ivy League in 1956. It also became the first Columbia football class to defeat all seven Ivy League schools since the Class of 1998. The group is Bagnoli's first full recruiting class at Columbia and was the nation's No. 3 ranked FCS recruiting class in 2016.
A total of 13 individual awards will be presented on Saturday, Feb. 8. Those awards include:
