LAST TIME OUT
Columbia (5-2) returns to action after nearly two weeks off from competition, having played top-15 foes on three consecutive days in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wisconsin, Feb. 14-16. Despite falling to third-ranked Florida, the Lions bounced back in a big way with back-to-back wins over No. 14 South Carolina and No. 12 Baylor.
LIONS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Having been ranked in the top-10 in four-straight weeks, the Lions come in at No. 7 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Team Rankings released on Feb. 25, while the Tennis Channel/USTA College Top 25 has Columbia ranked eighth in the nation.
Three singles players and one doubles team grace the ITA rankings released on Feb. 18. In singles, No. 25 Jack Lin leads the way, followed by No. 88 Jackie Tang and No. 116 Alex Kotzen. In doubles, Jack Lin and Jackie Tang come in as the eighth-ranked tandem.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
The Blue Demons are 5-8 entering Friday's matchup, most recently coming off a 4-1 victory over Corpus Christi. This will be the second-ever meeting between the two programs, with Columbia owning a 1-0 edge after defeating DePaul, 7-0, on Feb. 2, 2014 in New York.
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
The 34th-ranked Wildcats are 6-4 on the season after falling at Harvard, 4-3, on Feb. 23 in their most recent outing. The Crimson took the doubles point and split singles play, with Northwestern getting wins from Dominik Stary, Trice Pickens and Simen Bratholm.
