
Wasserman Qualifies For Indoor Nationals In The One-Mile Run

Columbia Track & Field senior Katie Wasserman is one of seven women from the Ivy League set to run at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in her decorated career, Columbia Track & Field senior Katie Wasserman will run at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, having qualified for the One-Mile Run, as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday, Mar. 3.
The nationals will be held in at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from Mar. 13-14, with Wasserman running her preliminary race on Friday, Mar. 13 at 5:35 p.m.
Wasserman ran her qualifying time at the Camel City Invitational, on Feb. 8, finishing with an adjusted time of 4:37.55. That was a personal record time for Wasserman, and it got her the 16th and final qualifying spot at nationals.
The 2019 Ivy League Indoor Heps One-Mile Champion, Wasserman finished third at the 2020 Ivy League Indoor Heps in the one-mile, having run a time of 4:49.17. Wasserman becomes one of seven women from the Ivy League who qualified for the Indoor Nationals, with three of those seven taking part in the one-mile run along with Wasserman.
