NEW YORK — Columbia archers
Sophia Strachan,
Sachiko Keane,
Savannah Ward,
Meghan Collins and
Nidhi Kanchumarthi were each named to the 2020 Collegiate Archery Program All-American Team, USA Archery announced Tuesday.
Â
The 2020 All-American Team is composed of to the top 25 percent of archers (rounded up to nearest whole number) in each Division and Class that participated in the U.S. National Indoors in the same division (maximum 10) and was calculated by taking the arrow average from the USA Archery Indoor Nationals. Scores are calculated to three decimal places. The maximum point value an archer can receive is 10. In 2021, the award will revert to theÂ
standard calculation, where scores from Indoor Nationals and Collegiate Target Nationals are used to determine placement on the team.
Â
Senior Strachan receives her fourth-straight All-American honors in compound, while the four additional Lions earn the recognition for the first time.
Â
All five of Columbia's All-American performers had qualified to compete at the National Collegiate Indoor Finals before the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
