RICHMOND, Va. — The Columbia archery team capped off its run at the 2021 USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals on Saturday afternoon, with the recurve squad taking silver after falling in the gold medal match to Texas A&M. It was the Lions' first in-person competition of the season.

It was the fifth-straight outdoor nationals in which Columbia's recurve squad has faced off against Texas A&M in the gold medal match after the Lions' team of junior
Meghan Collins and sophomores
Nidhi Kanchumarthi and
Olivia Cho took down Michigan State, 6-0, and Lindsey Wilson College, 5-1, in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Texas A&M came out on top in the finals, winning 6-0.

Individually, Collins was the Lions' top finisher in recurve, making it to the quarterfinal round before falling to Texas A&M's Riley Marx, 6-4. On the compound side, sophomore
Sachiko Keane also advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to University of the Cumberlands' Hannah Moose, who will compete in Sunday's gold medal match, in a tightly-contested battle, 146-142. First-year
Jessica Kim also competed for the Lions in the individual compound, making it to the second round.Â
