KEVIN ANDERSON - COLUMBIA MEN'S SOCCER HEAD COACH
The 2021 season will mark Kevin Anderson's 13th year as the Head Coach of the Columbia University men's soccer team. In 2017, the program returned to the NCAA tournament, of which only 48 teams in Div. I are annually selected, and defeated William & Mary on the road in overtime to advance past the first round. That season saw Columbia ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation (RPI) and ranked in the top 48 teams for the entire campaign. Individual accolades such as Top Drawer Soccer's Best XI, MAC Hermann Trophy Semi-Finalist, MLS Combine, All-American, Academic All-American, All-Region, All-Ivy and Academic All-Ivy decorate the trophy case next to the Lions' 2016 Ivy League Championship and Coaching Staff of the Year awards.
Kevin Anderson, a veteran of Major League Soccer states, "Having the great fortune of being a part of three National Championship teams only makes you hungry for the ultimate prize every season. We are not here to participate, we are here to take over. Our goals are simple and straight to the point. We are here to establish Ivy League dominance and are aiming to be the first Ivy League men's soccer program to win the National Championship." Anderson earned his bachelor's degree in liberal studies from Southern Connecticut State University in 1992. He also holds a USSF National "A" Coaching License.
