Columbia returns from a competitive Ivy League weekend which included a dominate victory over the Cornell Big Red, punctuated by 11 event sweeps. Junior Isabelle Arevalo recorded three individual and two relay wins over the weekend's pair of meets, dominating in the 50 free against both Cornell and Brown. Classmate Olivia Jubin contributed two top finishes of her own, touching the wall first in the 200 and 500 free on Sunday.
The Lions and Tigers last battled on Jan. 25, 2019 in a 210-87 victory for then-No.22 Princeton. Jubin shone in 2019, proving her prowess in the 200 and 500 free with first-place finishes in both events. Teammate Emily Wang also put on an impressive performance in the programs' last meeting, earning an individual victory in the 100 butterfly.
First-year diver Macy Pine will compete on the three and six meters boards. Additionally, she will compete in an exhibition capacity in the platform event.
This season, Princeton (5-0, 4-0 Ivy) is paced by reigning four-time Ivy League Champion Nikki Venema. The junior has gone undefeated in the 100 butterfly while setting pool records at Penn's Sheerr Pool in both the 200 back (1:59.64) and 200 IM (2:01.62). Ivy League distance champion in the 500, 1,000, and 1,500 free, Ellie Marquardt comes off a successful Big Al Invitational performance highlighted by a first-place finish, and NCAA b-qualifying time, in the 400 IM (4:13.99).
