NEW YORK -- A quartet of Lions earned straight set singles victories as Columbia defeated visiting VCU 5-2 at Lifetime Westchester. No. 12
Alex Kotzen defeated Maxence Bertimon 6-2, 6-4 from the top spot of Columbia's roster.
Rookie
Max Westphal took down No. 98 Inigo Torre Martin in straight sets, earning the first win 6-4 before battling through a tough 7-5 second set.
Austen Huang took down Matisse Bobichon 6-3, 6-1, while
Henry Ruger earned a rapid victory over Joaquin Almeida 6-1, 6-0.

Theo Winegar defeated the Rams' doubles team of Inigo Torre Martin and Rayane Stable 6-4. Ruger and
Jayden Templeman secured the doubles' point with a 7-5 win over Almeida and Bobichon.
Next weekend, Columbia will travel to Austin, Texas to compete in the ITA Kickoff Classic. The Lions will first face the University of Texas followed by either Oklahoma State or Oregon.
