
Tewolde and Amineni Head to ITA Fall National Championships

The duo begins its quest for a National Championship on November 2 at 2:00 p.m.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Winta Tewolde and Shivani Amineni of Columbia women's tennis play in the ITA Fall National Championships at Barnes Tennis Center beginning on November 2.
Tewolde and Amineni gained Championships berth after advancing to the doubles final of the Northeast Super Regionals hosted by Yale last weekend.
In the round of 16, the duo defeated Victoria Erechtchenko and Saki Oyama from Long Island University. They then bested Jayden Nielson and Yesica de Lucas from Saint John's University in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Tewolde and Amineni took down Polina Kozyreva and Miyuka Kimoto from Syracuse, leading to a finals matchup with Jamie Wei and Maiko Uchijimia from Temple.
The Owls' duo came out on top, but the strong showing from the Lions' pair earned them a chance to compete for a National Championship.
Tewolde and Amineni are scheduled to play Janice Tjen and Savannah Broadus from Pepperdine University on November 2 at 2:00 p.m.
