Leading Columbia's offense is two-time Ivy League Player of the Week Abbey Hsu, who hit a program-record nine 3-pointers and scored a career-high 34 points in Saturday's victory at UMass. Hsu was named to the 2023 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award Preseason Watch List. She leads a starting lineup in which all five players average double figures scoring.𝙍𝙀𝘾𝙀𝙄𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙑𝙊𝙏𝙀𝙎

Columbia is coming off a historic 25-7 campaign from 2021-22. The Lions won their most games in program history, went 12-2 in the Ivy League, and advanced to the Ivy League Tournament Championship Game and the National Quarterfinals of the WNIT.
Columbia's first year competing as an NCAA Div. I program was the 1986-87 academic year. The program first played under the umbrella of Columbia University in 1984, coinciding with the formation of the Columbia-Barnard Athletic Consortium. To this day, the unique arrangement allows Barnard College students to compete with Columbia undergraduates in NCAA Division I Athletics and the Ivy League. This year's team has three active players who attend Barnard College (Noa Comesaña, Mary Lobon, Nicole Stephens).Columbia will play an interborough matchup against LIU (2-8) on Tuesday. Tip-off from the Steinberg Wellness Center in Brooklyn is set for 7 p.m. ET.
