Men’s Squash to Host Senior Day Saturday vs. Rochester

NEW YORK — The No. 6 Columbia men's squash team (7-6) finishes off the regular season on Saturday with a matchup against No. 10 Rochester (6-5). The contest will take place at SL Green StreetSquash Center and begins at 12 p.m. ET.

SENIOR DAY
Columbia will honor its senior class consisting of Justin Ghaeli, Callan Hall, Aditya Kankariya, Vishan Patel, Velavan Senthilkumar and James Wyatt prior to the start of Saturday's match.
THE LATEST
Columbia will be competing for the first time since January 30. The Lions are hoping to shake off their recent results, having lost five of their last six matches. Their last match came at No. 5 Princeton, falling to the Tigers, 8-1. Callan Hall earned Columbia's lone point, defeating Karim Elbarbary in four games at the No. 2 position.
Columbia's last victory came on January 23, defeating No. 11 Dartmouth, 7-2. Each of the team's last five losses have come against teams ranked inside the top five of the College Squash Association national poll.
AT THE TOP
Senior Velavan Senthilkumar has played the majority of matches in the No. 1 position for the Lions this season, going 4-5 overall. Callan Hall is 4-4 at the No. 2, while James Wyatt is 4-4 at the No. 3. Columbia's best team records are in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, with each spot sitting 8-5 on the campaign.
THE SERIES
Columbia is 4-3 in seven all-time matches against the Yellow Jackets. Rochester pulled out close wins in each of their last two meetings, including a 5-4 result in January of 2020. Columbia won three straight from 2017-18, including a 6-3 win at CSA Nationals in 2018.
