Princeton, NJ -- Junior diver
Jonathan Suckow won the three meter dive event with an Ivy League championship record-breaking score of 464.55 on the final night of the 2022 Ivy League Swim and Dive Championships. Columbia concluded the event in fifth place, amassing 919 points over the four day competition.
"Jonathan was on fire tonight," reflected head dive coach
Scott Donie. "This was a performance we will definitely take a moment to enjoy and really let soak in. So much work went into this and it's wonderful to see it pay off in this way."
With his record-breaking victories in both springboard events, Suckow becomes the, statistically, greatest diver in Ivy League history. To date, the junior holds the championship record in the one and three meter events, has earned the highest ever 3M score in League history (doing so against Dartmouth, 472.88), and is the Ivy's only diver to ever compete the 109C.
"Although diving is an individual sport, I owe a lot to the support of my teammates coaches, friends, and family," expressed Suckow following the event. "Having the opportunity to train alongside
Nick Leavell and
Casey Fellows really lifts me up. Another thing that makes Columbia so special is the support I feel from (head swim coach)
Jim Bolster, (associate head swim coach)
Gustavo Leal, and of course, Scott."
From the pool, first-year
Demirkan Demir produced the Lions best result for the second consecutive night. The 2022 100 breast champion took second in the 200 breast with a D1B time of 1:52.76. Teammate

Ike Shirakata in third (1:58.50), and
Michael Chang in fifth (1:59.06).
Seung Joon Ahn earned his best finish of the Championship, swimming for third overall in the 200 fly (1:43.75, D1B). On the weekend, Columbia collected five medals, three of which were gold, one silver, and two bronze.
Stanford Li competed in the longest event of Ivies, the 1,650 free, taking 16th in the mile-long event in 15:29.57. Teammates
Kyle Won and
Joey Licht picked up seventh and eighth over finishes in the 200 back, touching the wall in 1:45.25 and 1:46.70, respectively.
Jonas Kistorp claimed a fourth place finish in the 100 free B final (44.54) followed by classmate
Albert Gwo who won the C final (44.23).
Columbia concluded the 2022 Ivy League Swim and Dive Championships with a fourth place finish in the 400 free relay. The team of Demir, Gwo, Kistorp, and
