Lions Conclude 2022 ECAC Swim & Dive Championships

Men take third while women finish in seventh.
Annapolis, MD -- Select members of the Columbia men's and women's swim programs finalized their 2022 slate at the ECAC Swim & Dive Championships, hosted by the Naval Academy. The men took third with 348 points while the women finished in seventh with 216. Columbia swept the 200 fly competition, winning the event for both the men and women.
Caleb Apodaca took first in the 200 fly, touching the wall in 1:48.21. Teammate Ian Choi followed in seventh, swimming the event in 1:52.12. Karen Liu topped the women's event with a time of 2:00.10.
John Laidlaw collected a second-place swim in the 1,650 free, finishing the mile-long event in 15.27.96. Teammate Hunter Kroll swam for seventh (15:59.65) followed by Rene Strezenicky in tenth (16:08.21).
Also earning a spot in an A final was Taylor Whang, who took eighth overall in the 200 breast (2:23.37).
Columbia concluded its season in the 400 free relay. Ana Eyre, Claire Lin, Jazlynn Pak, and Anthea Wong represented the women's program, earning fourth in 3:31.59. For the men, Choi Strezenicky, Andrew Fouty, and Keegan Drew finished in fifth (3:04.08).
