Columbia Heavyweights defeat Marist, Temple and Holy Cross in Saturday’s Varsity 8 race; Columbia’s Second Varsity 8 takes second place.

PRINCETON, N.J.—The No. 17 ranked Columbia Heavyweight Rowing team claimed the Varsity 8 title against Marist, Temple and Holy Cross as the Lions competed in three races Saturday at Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.

Columbia's Varsity 8 finished in 5:47.33 and won the race by a full three seconds over Marist (5:50.58), Temple and Holy Cross. Columbia's Second Varsity 8 took second place in its race with a 6:05.82 time, and the Lions' Third Varsity 8 team finished in fourth place at 6:25.99.

Projected boatings are listed below. The Lions check in at No. 17 in the IRCA rowing poll this week.

The competition marked the Columbia Heavyweight's third regatta of the spring season.
