Coach Bolster's and Coach Caskey's Lions honored once again for academic prowess
RICHMOND, Va. -- The Columbia University men's and women's swimming & diving teams have been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America teams, the organization announced.
Programs were selected on the basis of their Fall 2022 team grade point averages and represent 19,426 student-athletes from 803 teams, spanning 479 institutions. The Columbia men and women posted GPAs of 3.64 and 3.68, respectively, to earn the recognition.
Sam Barany, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted Columbia's achievements noting, "I am pleased to once again recognize coaches James Bolster & Diana Caskey, along with these 72 men and women that make up both teams. Not every team wins a championship or earns Scholar All-America, so please know that Columbia ranks among our very best."
Worth special mention are the conferences in which 100% of their teams achieved Scholar All-America Honors. In Division I, fifteen women's conferences and fourteen men's conferences achieved 100%. The Ivy League is among both lists, thanks in part to the Lions' performance.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America - is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
