MAYS LANDING, N.J. — Columbia archery senior
Sachiko Keane and sophomore
Judith Gottlieb took gold at the 2023 New Jersey Indoor Collegiate Championship. The event wrapped up last week.
Keane won gold in the women's collegiate compound, posting a total of 576 with her 60 arrows. She scored 36 perfect 10s to go with 24 arrows with a score of 9. Gottlieb won gold in the women's collegiate recurve, hitting 30 bullseyes to go with 26 scores of 9 for a total of 566.
The Lions swept the podium in each discipline. First-year
Giselle DeSousa was a point behind Keane in the compound (575) while first-year
Sydney Sullenberger scored an impressive 573 to win bronze. In the recurve, first-year
Lillian Han scored a 555 to win silver, while
Dorothy Vassantachart came in with a 540 to take the bronze.
Columbia had the top six finishers in the compound and the top five finishers in the recurve.
The Lions return to action this Saturday and Sunday, competing in the 54th USA Archery Indoor Nationals. Columbia will be shooting in the Fiskdale, Massachusetts Regional each day at 12:30 p.m.
