NEW YORK—Columbia Football will host its fourth annual New York City NFL Pro Day Workout Wednesday, March 8 at the Baker Athletics Complex. Two Lions' seniors, Fara'ad McCombs and Ryan Young, will be among 20 student-athletes participating in drills organized by NFL personnel.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. with weight room testing (height, weight, bench, vertical) in the Campbell Sports Center Weight Room (second floor). Testing will be followed by an open field session at noon at the indoor bubble. The field session will include a 40-yard dash, 60-yard shuttle, agility drills, and position-specific drills.
The New York Jets will serve as hosts of the event and representatives of all 32 NFL teams are expected to be in attendance, along with a handful of CFL scouts.
Young finished his career with 1,749 rushing yards, good for third on Columbia's all-time list, and was a three-year starter for the Lions. He earned honorable mention All-Ivy League honors in 2021. McCombs posted a career-best 64 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss from his safety position to earn All-Ivy League honorable mention status in 2022. He started all 10 games and registered a pair of interceptions in Columbia's overtime win at Brown on November 12.
