MORGANTOWN, W. Va. --
Jonathan Suckow continued his dominance on the second night of the NCAA Zone Diving Championships, taking first place in the 3-meter dive tonight after winning the 1-meter event last night.
Suckow is now qualified for the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships in both events, after posting an average score of 72.03 per round in the finals of the 3-meter to win the gold medal tonight in West Virginia.
Meanwhile, senior diver
Nick Leavell finished 18th in the finals of the 3-meter with an average score per round of 49.74. This was his second consecutive appearance in the finals of the NZAA Zones on the 3-meter boards, and he did not disappoint.
"I am very proud of Nick for making his second consecutive zone final on the 3-meter," Head Diving Coach
Scott Donie said. "This was a great way for him to end his career. On the other hand, Jonathan was totally dominant again today from start to finish. It's a very difficult meet to maintain a high level of focus and he was just outstanding. We have some work to do to prepare for Nationals and we are both looking forward to it."
For those that advance, the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships will begin on March 24 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
