NEW YORK – For the 10
th consecutive season, the Columbia men's tennis program has been recognized as a Division I All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In addition to the team honor, all 12 men's tennis student-athletes were honored as Division I Scholar-Athletes.
As part of the 2022-23 squad,
Hugo Hashimoto,
Roko Horvat, Alexander Kotzen,
Nicolas Kotzen,
Sachin Palta,
Ishaan Ravichander,
Henry Ruger,
Anand Saluja,
Jayden Templeman,
Max Westphal,
Theo Winegar and
Michael Zheng capped off a great season by being named ITA Division I Scholar-Athletes. Columbia was one of two schools to have its entire roster honored as scholar-athletes.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must maintain a team grade point average of 3.2 or above with all current varsity athletes' marks factored in to the cumulative result. Scholar-athletes must possess a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the academic year.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2023, 959 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
