Lions begin three-match homestand on Sunday
NEW YORK – The 34th-ranked Columbia men's tennis team plays a split, road and home series this weekend. The Lions open the week at No. 39 Penn on Friday at 2 p.m. before hosting No. 37 Princeton on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center.

LIONS HOST HARLEM JUNIOR TENNIS & EDUCATION PROGRAM
On Sunday, Columbia will be hosting the Harlem Junior Tennis & Education Program. The Harlem Junior Tennis & Education Program is a nonprofit tennis and education program that has served the Harlem community and beyond for over 50 years, with a mission to develop champions in tennis, education, and wellness.
LIONS IN THE ITA RANKINGS
In the latest ITA men's tennis rankings, the Lions are one of seven teams ranked in the top 75. The Lions are ranked No. 34, just behind Cornell at No. 33. Princeton (No. 37), Yale (No. 38), Penn (No. 39), Harvard (No. 47) and Dartmouth (No. 71) are all ranked in the team rankings. Michael Zheng (No. 9), Nicolas Kotzen (No. 45) and Sachin Palta (No. 84) all remain ranked in the singles rankings. Thanaphat Boosarawongse and Aditya Govila are ranked No. 44 in the doubles rankings, while Kotzen and Andrew Ena check in at N. 64.
LAST TIME OUT
Columbia opened up Ivy League play 2-0 thanks to a pair of conference road wins. The Lions opened up the weekend with a 4-0 win over Brown in Providence on Saturday. The next day, Columbia defeated Yale 5-2 in New Haven.
SCOUTING PENN
The No. 39 Penn Quakers enter Friday's contest with a 16-7 overall record. They are 2-1 in the Ivy League, and at home, they are 11-0 this year. Last weekend, the Quakers split a pair of road contests, falling 4-2 at Dartmouth on Saturday before rebounding to defeat Harvard 4-1 on Sunday. At the No. 1 singles spot for Penn is Manfredi Graziana, who enters this week ranked No. 71 in the ITA Singles Rankings. He is 11-5 on the year. Down the depth chart, Vojtech VAles is 15-2, which leads the team in wins; he is 10-1 at the No. 6 singles spot.

Friday will be the 101st meeting between these two programs. All-time, the Lions own a 57-42-1 advantage in the series that dates back to 1912. Last timeout, Columbia defeated the Quakers 7-0 in the 2024-25 home finale.

The Tigers enter this weekend mired in a four-match losing streak. They are 14-8 overall, but 0-3 in conference play after Harvard and Dartmouth handed the Tigers back-to-back 4-3 losses. On the road this year, the Tigers are 3-6. Princeton's top singles player is Paul Inchauspe, who enters this week ranked No. 13 in the ITA Singles Rankings. Inchauspe defeated Michael Zheng earlier this year in the finals of the ECAC Indoor Championships; however, it was Zheng who got the better of Inchauspe at the NCAA Singles Championships, where Zheng won 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 to advance to the finals.
