Jacob Ireland Wins Brown 8k at Paul Short Run

Men finished fourth, women placed seventh in Pennsylvania
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Cross country had its best showing of the young 2023 season on Sunday afternoon at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. Jacob Ireland finished in first place in the Brown 8k, leading the men to a fourth-place finish in the competition. Meanwhile, the women finished in seventh in the Brown 6k thanks to a balanced team effort.
Ireland was the star of the show, clocking in at 24:36.8 to win gold in the event, besting second place by over six seconds.
Brett Bishop also had a solid meet for the Lions, placing 14th in the event with a time 25:19.50. Finneas Colescott was right behind him in 23rd place with a time of 25:25.90.
Lucy Henkel paced the women in the 6k with a time of 22:30.10 which was good for 30th place.
Brigid McCabe (22:47.00) and Daniela Quintero (22:54.50) placed 46th and 51st, respectively.

The Lions are back at it next weekend, competing in the Mets Cross Country Championships in Newark, New Jersey. The meet is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
