
Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Edward Blaha earns individual recognition as both Lions squads earn team honors
NEW ORLEANS — Columbia Men's and Women's Cross Country earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors late last week. In addition, Edward Blaha was recognized with individual All-Academic honors.
Blaha, a senior majoring in Political Science, earned individual All-Academic distinction after meeting the USTFCCCA's academic and competitive standards during the 2025 cross country season.
In order to qualify for individual All-Academic honors, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 (or top 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or earn All-America honors at the NCAA Championships.
As teams, the Columbia men posted a cumulative GPA of 3.61, while the Columbia University-Barnard College women recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.55, earning both squads All-Academic Team recognition. To qualify, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, including the most recent grading period.
