Men's Swimming and Diving Set for Back-to-Back against Army and Cornell

Lions take on the Black Knights on Friday in West Point before returning home to host the Big Red on Saturday
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's swimming and diving team returns to action this weekend with a back-to-back scheduled against Army and Cornell. The Lions will travel to West Point to take on the Black Knights on Friday night before returning home to New York City to host the Big Red Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Columbia opened the new year last weekend with a road meet against the Brown Bears. The Lions were defeated by Brown, 182-116.
Adam Wu was the star of the meet for the Lions, winning two events. He took first in the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.66, before going on to win the 500-free as well with a time of 4:32.24.
Isaac Beers won the first individual event of the afternoon for Columbia, winning the 100-back with a mark of 50.24.
Stanford Li completed the sweep in the backstroke events for the Lions, taking the 200-back with a time of 1:49.24.
Brian Lee touched the wall with a time of 48.55 in the 100-fly, good for first place.

SCOUTING ARMY
Army comes into Friday's meet with a 3-2 overall record.
Last time out, the Black Knights destroyed Bucknell on Senior Day, winning just about every event and tallying a score of 218.
Last season, Army made the trip to NYC to compete against the Lions at Uris Natatorium, where Columbia emerged victorious by a score of 172-127. A recap of this meet can be found HERE.
The Lions own a 6-2 all-time record against the Black Knights.
SCOUTING CORNELL
The Big Red make the trip to Percy Uris Natatorium with a 3-4 overall record, and a 1-4 record in Ivy League meets. Cornell has a win over Dartmouth, but lost to Princeton, Penn, Harvard, and Yale.
Last season, the Big Red went 3-5-1 overall with a 1-5-1 Ivy League record. Cornell and Columbia faced off in January last year, with the Lions coming out on top 172-128. The Big Red went on to finish seventh at the Ivy League Championships.
Cornell enters Saturday's meet leading the all-time series against Columbia, 49-31. However, the Lions have won the last 11 meetings.
ON DECK
The Lions will return to the pool on Friday, January 26 for a non-conference meet against Navy. The competition is scheduled to begin at noon at Uris Natatorium.
