PRINCETON, N.J. – Jaden Le (157) and
Lennox Wolak (174) earned individual wins in the team's 26-7 loss in the dual match against Princeton Friday night to begin this season's Ivy League slate.
Princeton opened the dual with four consecutive bout wins to take a 12-0 lead to start the evening. The Tigers battled to earn decision victories in the 125, 133, 141 and 149 bouts.
Le secured Columbia's first victory of the match with a 7-6 decision victory over Rocco Camillaci in the 157 bout. With a 2-1 lead in the third period, Le recorded a critical takedown that put him ahead, 5-2. This helped propel Le to finish off the bout and secure the win.
Shortly after, Wolak took the mat for the 174 bout. Wolak wasted no time with a dominating 21-11 major decision win against Princeton's Michael Squires. With the win, Wolak has now won seven of his past eight matches dating back to the win over Northern Iowa's Jared Simma on December 10.
Princeton closed out the dual with two decision victories and a major decision to take a 26-7 team victory over Columbia. The Lions drop to 1-6 overall this season in dual matches.
