NEW YORK -- The Columbia volleyball team was swept (25-19, 25-12, 25-20) by the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday night at Levien Gymnasium
Amanda Holsen got off to a great start for the Lions, smacking five kills in the first set but it wasn't enough as Dartmouth held on to take the first set 25-19. After a rough second set, Columbia fought its way back into the game in the third set behind massive kills from Harper Justema and consecutive aces from Juliana Williamson. A kill from Avery Jones gave the Lions a 20-17 lead as they looked to force a fourth set, but the Big Green scored seven unanswered points to close out the set and complete the sweep.Â
Eva Atkins led Columbia with seven kills on the night, while Jones and Holsen both chipped in six. Clara Yu dished out 20 assists. Anna Gioranidi collected six digs.Â
