PRINCETON, N.J. —
Phoebe Anderson won the individual Ivy League Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Meadows Campus of Princeton University.
Columbia's distance star finished the 6k with a time of 19:52.7, exactly 12 seconds faster than the second-place finisher Mena Scatchard of Princeton.
"Awesome run from Phoebe today to become just the second woman from Columbia to win an Ivy League Individual Cross Country title," Head Coach Dan Ireland said. "This concludes an incredible four-year run of top-five finishes at this championship!"
Talha Syed led the men, winning a bronze medal with a third-place finish in the 8k thanks to a time of 22:57.5.
Both Anderson and Syed were named First Team All-Ivy for their efforts. This was the fourth consecutive First Team All-Ivy nod of Anderson's career. In addition, both Syed and Anderson received Academic All-Ivy recognition.
As a team, the Columbia men finished in sixth place with a score of 113, while the Columbia women finished in eighth place with a score of 155.
Other top finishers for the Lions included
Elia Ton-That who placed 19th for the women with a time of 20:52.1, and
Matt Gatune who finished 21st for the men with a time of 23:45.3.

The Ivy League season is now complete for Columbia. Next up, the Lions will send a team to compete at the NCAA East Regionals, which will be hosted in Hopkinton, New Hampshire on Friday, November 15. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
