Caleb Sanchez Takes Ivy League Rookie of the Week Honors

Sanchez picks up the award for the second consecutive week
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia football's Caleb Sanchez repeated as Ivy League Rookie of the Week for his efforts in the Lions' 17-9 victory over Cornell Saturday.
Sanchez completed 11-of-19 passes for 221 yards and rushed for a touchdown to help the Lions earn a share of the Ivy League Championship. His second-quarter touchdown opened the scoring, and Columbia never trailed in the contest. Despite 30-mile-per-hour winds, Sanchez completed a 73-yard pass to Ethan Hebb to set up the Lions' second score late in the third quarter, which was the longest play of the season for the team.
Joey Giorgi, Hayden McDonald and Carter McCray all earned spots on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll.
