PRINCETON, N.J. — Top-seeded Princeton used a big second half to earn a 4-0 win over the Columbia field hockey team in the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament. The Lions finish the 2024 season with a 6-10 mark.

With the game 1-0 at the half, the Tigers (13-4) scored three times in the third to put the game away and advance to Sunday's Championship Game.

Katie Wimmer made eight saves and faced 13 shots. Columbia was held to just one attempt on the day.

The first quarter was a defensive battle, with possession remaining mostly int the neutral zone and neither team firing off a shot attempt.

Princeton started to gain momentum on the offensive end in the second, controlling the ball and generating penalty corners. Wimmer made three stops and Lizzie Adams came up with a key defensive save to keep the contest scoreless heading into the final minute, however, a corner with 34 seconds left in the second led to a Grace Schultz goal.

Off a corner, Princeton's initial attempt was deflected right to Schultz, who was all alone on the left post, and chipped it into the top of the cage for the go-ahead score.

The Tigers doubled the lead in the 35th minute, again off the set piece. Beth Yaeger's hard pass set up an Ella Cashman tip-in front. Just under two minutes later, the Tigers generated a 2-0 and Talia Schenck buried the chance.

Princeton made it 4-0 with another transition goal in the 42nd minute by Pru Lindsey.
