Lions Climb The Leaderboard on Day 2 of Columbia Classic

Tai, Zeng match season-low rounds
MELBOURNE, Fla. — Three Columbia women's golfers posted rounds of 74 and the Lions moved two spots up the leaderboard on Sunday in the second round of the Columbia Classic. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at Duran Golf Club.
Columbia posted a team round of 11-over-par 299. They climbed into solo eighth (+25), sitting just four shots back of sixth and within seven shots of the top five. Penn State (+1) holds the 36-hole lead in the 16-team tournament.
Sophomore Emma Shen, sophomore Yoko Tai and first-year Ava Zeng carded the three rounds of 2-over 74. The trio combined for seven birdies, 11 bogeys and just one double all day. For Tai and Zeng, the 74 matched their lowest round of the academic year.
Tai's back-to-back rounds of 74 have her at 4-over for the tournament and tied for 18th in the 90-player field. Angela Zhang (+5) is one shot behind Tai in a two-way tie for 23rd. Shen and Zeng (+8) are tied for 34th.
Monday's final round will go off in a shotgun format at 8:30 a.m. ET. Live scoring is available courtesy of Golf Genius.
