All Three Rowing Crews Open 2024 Season on Saturday

Lightweight and heavyweight host at Overpeck; Women start at Doc Hosea
NEW YORK — Columbia rowing opens the 2024 season on Saturday with the heavyweight crew racing against Dartmouth, before the lightweight crew hosts the National Lightweight Collegiate Invite at Overpeck Park. The women's crew will race in the Doc Hosea Regatta at Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
Saturday's races from Overpeck Park will be streamed on ESPN+. The heavyweight crew will race against Dartmouth at 9 a.m. and then 9:20 a.m. The lightweight crew's first race is set for 10 a.m.
The Doc Hosea Regatta gets underway at 8 a.m in Camden. The Lions last competed in this event to open their 2022 season.
At Overpeck Park for the heavyweight and lightweight races, there will be a hospitality tent on the spectator side of the course, hosted by USRowing. The tent is open to all team spectators, alumni, and parents. There will be TV screens with the ESPN Plus live stream, opportunities to sit down and relax, and refreshments for everyone. Tickets are complimentary, but it is asked that everyone signs up by clicking here.
National Rankings
The women's crew received votes in the March 27 Pocock CRCA Poll. Lightweight is ranked No. 8 while heavyweight checks in at No. 19 in the latest IRCA Coaches Poll.
About Overpeck Park
Located in Leonia, New Jersey, Overpeck County Park is an 811-acre county park in Bergen County, with major sections in Leonia, Palisades Park, Ridgefield Park, and Teaneck, surrounding Overpeck Creek, a tributary of the Hackensack River. Spectators can enter the park from the Challenger Road entrance by following directions to the Overpeck County Park Amphitheatre. If parking near the team launch site, race viewing is best seen from the western shore about a 15 minute walk from the parking area.
