NEW YORK —
Columbia baseball, track and field, women's rowing and lacrosse are featured in this week's edition of Lions on the Road. Every week, GoColumbiaLions.com will be using "Lions on the Road" to preview that week's upcoming games and events happening off campus.
BASEBALL
The first place Lions (18-14, 12-3) continue their road trip with a midweek matchup at Seton Hall Wednesday before traveling to Cornell for a three-game set this weekend. Columbia has won four straight games and holds a two-game lead on Cornell for first place in the Ivy League standings. All nine Columbia starters recorded a hit in each game of last weekend's sweep at Brown. The Lions outscored Bears 40-12 over three games and swept their third Ivy League series of the season. Columbia leads the Ivy League in batting average, runs, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, total bases, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. Columbia has been belting extra-base hits, ranking first in the country in doubles per game (2.9) and 13th in home runs per game (1.9).
TRACK & FIELD
As the Ivy League Outdoor Heps near, the Columbia track and & field team has a busy weekend ahead in preparation for the biggest meat of the outdoor season. On Thursday, the Lions will travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Penn Relays which will take place from April 25-27. Then on Sunday, Columbia will wrap up the outdoor regular season at the Yale Springtime Invite in New Haven. The Lions are coming off their most impressive weekend of the outdoor season last week, during which they set seven new program records. The most impressive record of the bunch came from
Joshua Adams in the long jump at the Virginia Challenge. He shattered a Columbia program record that stood since 1959 in the event with a mark of 7.61m which helped him secure first place in the event. Meanwhile in Winston-Salem, Columbia's distance runners showed up and showed out.
Phoebe Anderson led the way placing, first in the women's 5,000m, setting a Columbia outdoor record in the process with a time of 15:29.02. The Lions will look to carry this momentum into the Penn Relays on Thursday

WOMEN'S ROWING
The Lions are coming off a week off from racing heading into the Hewitt-Dauphiny Cup against Princeton and the Woodbury Cup against Northeastern. Last year, the women's rowing crew swept all three varsity eight races over Northeastern and Navy to win the Woodbury Cup at Overpeck Park. It marked the first Woodbury Cup victory since 2019. The Woodbury Cup is named in memory of former Columbia rower and team captain Melanie Woodbury, a 1996 graduate of Barnard College, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 2002.
