NEW YORK — Columbia Athletics raised more than $4.4 million on Columbia Giving Day, Campbell Family Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Peter Pilling announced Wednesday. The funds generated go directly to varsity and club sport programs and the OneROAR Fund, which supports all 750 student-athletes and initiatives within the department.

The total, recorded during the 24-hour fundraising event on Tuesday, October 21, marks the second consecutive year that Columbia Athletics has surpassed $4 million, and the third time since 2018.

"We are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of support from our Columbia Athletics community," said Pilling. "Year after year, our alumni, parents, and friends continue to step up in remarkable ways. Their generosity continues to provide our student-athletes with an exceptional experience athletically, academically and in life."

Columbia Athletics received 4,438 gifts, the highest total among all schools and departments across the University. Athletics also won five hourly challenges—including most gifts between 9–10 a.m. and most undergraduate G.O.L.D. gifts between 3–4 p.m., earning an additional $9,000 in bonus funds. The department also secured $21,500 in extra challenge money for the OneROAR Fund.

"Our Giving Day success is a testament to the collective effort of so many, our athletics development team, coaches, student-athletes, and alumni volunteers," said Erich Ely, Director of Athletic Development. "The preparation that goes into this day each year is incredible, and it's inspiring to see the Columbia community rally behind our programs in such a powerful way."

Other highlights from Columbia Giving Day include:
• Ten varsity programs raised more than $100,000 each.
• Seven sport programs set new records for the most gifts received on Giving Day.
